Visit to the Keukenhof Gardens, Netherlands: a unique and beautiful experience.

What is Keukenhof?  I think it is the most beautiful spring garden in the world!

Well, my family has many flower lovers. This Spring, my family and friends decided to make a special trip to see the most beautiful spring garden in the world:  Keukenhof in the Netherlands.   It is only  open from March 23 to May 21, 2017.  We went on April 26, thinking that this was the best time of the season.  It was very cold those few days in Amsterdam where we stayed and the weather forecast predicted that there would be rain.  We prayed and our prayers were answered.  It only rained in the early morning.  When we arrived after riding on a tram, a train and a bus, it was around 11 AM.  The rain stopped and we were able to enjoy the rest of the day in this beautiful tulip garden.

According to its website, there are more than 7 million bulbs in bloom this spring, with a total of 800 varieties of tulips.   I only posted a few pictures to whet your appetite.  If you are interested,  check out my travel pictures on Smugmug:

Tulip is my favorite flower, and this is my favorite quote about tulip:

“A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower. You didn’t have to struggle to make your face different than anyone else’s on earth. It just is. You are unique because you were created that way. Look at little children in kindergarten. They’re all different without trying to be. As long as they’re unselfconsciously being themselves, they can’t help but shine. ”
 Marianne Williamson

If you do plan to take a trip to  Amsterdam, apart from visiting the van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, find a good time to visit Keukenhof.  To me Keukenhof is a combination of art , nature and nurture.  Love art, love tulips, love Keukenhof!
