Hello, my friends. I have been very behind in blogging because I have been busy in traveling and cooking! Today, I was appreciating my blogger friend Michael Lai’s beautiful and inspirational photos of his Huang Shan trip. The memories of my family trip in 2005 came back.
Huang Shan is very beautiful but very difficult to hike. I had to look for foot massage every night after the hiking. However, I saw many locals carrying people, goods and almost everything up and down the mountain everyday, to make a living. I would like to share a few photos from that trip. Seeing how hard these people worked, and considering how many more years could they do that, I felt very sorry for them. However, this is perhaps the only means of income for some people. What else can they do? One of the pictures here showed the hotel where we lived. Others showed how the locals carried people and things up and down the mountain. How many steps did they walk everyday? Definitely more than 10,000! How did I know? In my recent trip to Machu Picchu, my iPhone showed that I had walked 10,784 steps that day. There are many more steps in Huang Shan, although Machu Picchu is more difficult to hike due to the uneven steps (which are not really steps).
So much for Huang Shan tonight. When I have organized my Peru photos, I will write some posts on my Peru trip. What about cooking? Well, wait till I catch up with my food blog!
